Netanyahu: We 'Won't Let' Iran to Obtain Nuclear Weapon

On Friday, the Trump administration renewed five of seven sanctions waivers that allow Russian Federation and European nations to conduct civilian nuclear cooperation with Iran but revoked the other two as part of its pressure campaign against Tehran, according to the US State Department.

"If the five countries join negotiations and help Iran to reach its benefits in the fields of oil and banking, Iran will return to its commitments according to the nuclear deal", Rohani said. The announcement coincided with the anniversary of the US unilaterally leaving the deal, a move accompanied by stifling sanctions on Iran and an escalation in tensions between the longtime foes.

Over the weekend, after the US decision to clamp down on all Iranian oil exports and close some nuclear technology loopholes, the European Union, France, Germany, and Britain vowed to keep working to deliver some of the accord's promised economic benefits for Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is in Moscow for talks, said he could guarantee the nuclear deal's survival if the agreement's European signatories fulfilled their obligations, something he accused them of not doing. The U.S. has since imposed sanctions that squeezed Iran's economy, triggered a currency collapse and ushered in shortages of consumer goods.

"We shall not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon", he said in Hebrew. Also under the 2015 deal, Iran can keep no more than 130 tons of heavy water, a coolant used in nuclear reactors.

"We will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons". Prices have already jumped 29 per cent this year, in part because of US efforts to tighten sanctions on Iranian oil exports. Zarif argued that Tehran's actions do not violate the nuclear deal and stressed that the country is not exiting the deal.

Washington's European allies have tried to find ways to blunt the impact of new US sanctions, in the hope of persuading Tehran to continue to abide by it.

A statement Sunday night from USA national security adviser John Bolton said the USS Abraham Lincoln, other ships in the carrier's strike group and a bomber wing would deploy to the Mideast.

"Articles of 26 and 36 entitled Iran to raise complaint about breach of the worldwide deal in the joint commission".

Most recently, national security adviser and noted Iran hawk John Bolton framed the expedited deployment of an aircraft carrier strike group already en route to the Middle East as a direct response to new threats Iran poses against US troops and their allies in the region.

The Trump administration is imposing new sanctions affecting Iran's iron, steel, aluminum and copper sectors, as the US continues to pressure the regime. Iran's Supreme National Security Council said it no longer considered itself bound by the agreed restrictions on stocks of enriched uranium and heavy water.

"The U.S.is to blame for the situation and it makes it hard for both Iran to fulfill its obligations and.for the general state of the nuclear nonproliferation regime", Lavrov said in Moscow after a meeting with Zarif on May 8. It said Iranian officials have informed their European counterparts - with whom Iran has been trying to salvage the agreement - of the planned speech.

"Otherwise, the Islamic Republic of Iran will stop compliance with its other undertakings in consequent phases", the SNSC said.

"Bolton has gone into overdrive in recent weeks to spur Iranian retaliation to justify his reckless aggression".

There was no immediate response from the USA government or on Trump's twitter feed. Jettisoning limits on the amount of uranium it can stockpile-and, importantly, how much it can enrich that uranium-would set Tehran back on the path to developing a viable nuclear weapon.
