Maybe it is not as far-fetched as once thought.
At the National Football League combine in Indy, there's been plenty of chatter already about Brown, and Wednesday Steelers GM Kevin Colbert didn't close the door on dealing him to just about any team that comes up shooting with an offer that will make them happy. And that's what I'm telling you guys ... that's my issue. "But we have not had talks with the Steelers, I can tell you that". Or perhaps he means all the special treatment and leniency the team has given Brown over the years including letting him be the only player to get to live with his family off campus during training camp. "And you have to weigh that all into the discussion, so we haven't eliminated anybody".
The Saints have limited assets if they were to pursue a trade as their only draft pick in the first four rounds this year is the 62nd overall pick in the second round. Even though Brown wants out, he is still the best wide receiver in the game and deserves a nice trade return.
"We've acknowledged we are looking into the possibility of trading him", Colbert said. "We're open to it, but again if it doesn't benefit us, we won't do it; that's as simple as it gets".
Over the last few weeks on social media Brown has taken a torch to the bridge, which seems beyond fix thanks to a multitude of tweets and videos.
Banning Huawei risks Europe falling further behind China and US
He also appears to disagree with his spooks' assessment of China's Huawei, the world's largest supplier of telecoms equipment . The US is also pursuing criminal charges against Huawei, including money laundering, bank fraud and stealing trade secrets.
Weeks of rumors and assumptions finally came to a head last week when Brown met with Steelers' owner Art Rooney II to make official what many had seen coming for weeks.
"The last time I spoke, I think I said three teams", Colbert said.
"He pretty much just explained what I already had told everyone. So really, I have complete disagreement with the perception of our locker room as anything but very functional".
Brown has requested a trade, and the Steelers have said they will look to move him this offseason.
"It's the same thing that's happening with AD right now", LeBron said. "It would take significant compensation just to balance out the loss of a player of that value".
