Thai businessman Srivaddhanaprabha died along with four others when his helicopter crashed and then exploded outside the club's King Power Stadium on Saturday after a Premier League match against West Ham United.

Srivaddhanaprabha's wife, Aimon, and son, Aiyawatt, laid a wreath in the middle of the pitch at the stadium yesterday before embracing the Leicester players and staff gathered around the centre circle.

Riyad Mahrez dedicated his goal in Manchester City's 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur to late Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. "We have recovered the digital flight data recorder [voice and data] ... and one of our inspectors travelled back to Farnborough with it the same evening", said the AAIB.

Leicestershire Police denied the chopper had hit any crowd control drones the force was flying at the stadium.

Leicester opened the book of condolence on Tuesday for fans to pay their own tributes, the club erecting a marquee where well-wishers can leave their messages.

A club statement said: "Guards Polo Club was sad to learn over the weekend of the death of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, founder and patron of the King Power Polo Team".

English football club says owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was among five people killed in crash next to its stadium.

It was indeed a awful day for The Foxes and the world of football at large.

Not only did the champions have to overcome a Tottenham side that had made their best nine-game start to a Premier League, they did so on a field damaged and discoloured by an NFL game held at the ground on Sunday.

Leicester's players have been visibly affected by the incident and have spent Monday and Tuesday attending commemorative events to pay tribute to Vichai.

It cleared the stadium roof before it plummeted into an adjacent parking lot in flames.

Pearson worked closely with Srivaddhanaprabha during his time at Leicester, taking the team up to the Premier League and keeping them in the division against all odds in the 2014/15 season.
