We don't know exactly what happened, but we do know according to several in attendance at the Pittsburgh Steelers Friday night practice that cornerback Artie Burns left the field, removed his pads and will not return. His resume boasts of two Super Bowl appearances (with one win), three AFC Championship appearances, seven playoff berths, and five division titles.

With T.J. Watt, JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner headlining Tomlin's 2017 rookie class, there looks to be no sign of the Steelers slowing down any time soon.

"I am pleased to announce we have extended Mike Tomlin's contract through the 2020 season", said Steelers President Art Rooney II. Starting with Chuck Noll in 1969, and continuing with Bill Cowher in 1992 on through Tomlin's start in 2007, the Steelers have been at or above.500 a whopping 36 times.

"Mike continues to prove he is one of the top head coaches in the National Football League", Rooney said. My first ten years in Pittsburgh have been an unbelievable experience for me and my family.

However, continuity has been a major factor in the organization's success and they thought it best to make sure Tomlin had the security of at least two more seasons added to his contract.

Tomlin, who has coached the Steelers since the 2006 season, was originally signed through the 2018 campaign. He went on to proclaim that those in charge of the team are "confident and excited to have him continue to lead our team" as Pittsburgh looks to win another championship during his tenure. OddsShark lists the Steelers at 12-1 to win the Super Bowl, tied with the Oakland Raiders for the second-best figure in the AFC. I'm proud to call Pittsburgh home.

"My focus remains on the upcoming season and our goals remain the same as they are - to bring a seventh Super Bowl championship back to our city".
