Claims James Rodriguez 'turned down Man Utd' are wide of the mark

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has remained tight-lipped about his club's interest in Chelsea and Manchester United linked winger James Rodriguez this summer.

He flies with Ancelotti's squad on their tour of China and Singapore, which leaves on Sunday, and will include stars Thomas Mueller, Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Making most of the opportunity, that too without shelling an astronomical amount of money, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelloti was able to fend off competition for the Colombian who he signed at Los Blancos in 2014.

And he fell down the pecking order dramatically under Zinedine Zidane's tutelage last season, playing more for the "B" side in the latter months and failing to make the Champions League final squad.

After the tournament, he moved from Monaco to Real Madrid for a reported fee of £63 million on a six-year contract.

"Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have agreed the loan of the player James Rodriguez for the next two seasons, pending the completion of a medical", the Madrid statement read.

The baby Nawab was seen with his nanny visiting his paternal grandmother, famed actor Sharmila Tagore, at her Mumbai residence. Kareena had also mentioned in jest that she and hubby Saif argue if Taimur is more of a Pathan or a Kapoor.

And it is believed to be the same that may have prompted Real Madrid to agree to part with the player on a two-year loan deal to Bayern Munich. "There's no question that this transfer further increases the quality in our team".

He made 46 appearances under Ancelotti at Real and scored 17 goals, adding 18 assists.

James will get straight down to business at Bayern.

"The 25-year-old moves to the German champions after three seasons in the Spanish capital, where he never managed to secure a guaranteed starting place", reports The Guardian.

With the transfer ban lifted for Real Madrid and the Colombian finding it hard to win match time that he would have elsewhere, the deal was good sense for both Zidane and the Colombian.
