Authorities said Ftouhi had expressed "hatred for the United States" during questioning in custody, and were conducting joint operations in Canada and the USA in the wake of the stabbing.

The FBI also said Ftouhi yelled "Allahu akbar" as he allegedly stabbed Neville.
"He further exclaimed something similar to, 'you have killed people in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and we are all going to die, '" Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Thomas Sondgeroth wrote in a criminal report of the stabbing.
The stabbing occurred in a public area of the airport that is not subject to TSA security.
Neville's condition was upgraded from critical to stable.
The attack occurred just before 10am local time, prompting officials to evacuate and shut down the airport and add security elsewhere in the MI city of Flint. The FBI is leading the investigation. Bishop International Airport posted Wednesday on Facebook that the officer was hurt but offered no details about the incident. "All passengers are safe and are being evacuated at this time".
"The cop was on his hands and knees bleeding from his neck", Ken Brown told The Flint Journal. He says he saw a man detained by police and a knife on the ground.
