Defence expert Praful Bakshi on Saturday said the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump would be of great significance.
"India's weak standards and insufficient enforcement remain an area of concern for United States right holders, including with respect to pharmaceutical patents and in the area of copyright protection, where we understand that India has not enacted meaningful laws to prevent cam cording in cinemas, which has led to rampant infringement", they wrote.
"While Indian businesses continue to benefit from open USA markets, India has failed to eliminate, or even address concretely, multiple trade and investment barriers that have been the focus of recent bilateral and multilateral fora", the letter said.
In another tweet, he said: "Advancing bilateral engagements". Indian's prime minister is set to visit the White House on Monday. "In fact, the two (leaders) will have dinner, a working dinner at the White House", a senior administration official told reporters at the White House.
Apart from official meetings with Mr Trump and his cabinet colleagues, PM Modi will be meeting some prominent American CEOs.
"This will be the first dinner for a foreign dignitary at the White House under this administration".

Ahead of the visit, Indian Ambassador to the US Navtej Sarna said the first face-to-face meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump will give them an opportunity to look at the entire gamut of Indo-US engagement and to exchange views on issues of global interest.
He said that Trump administration would exert more pressure on Pakistan to act against terror groups. Joshua said that the leaders will discuss the important issues like trade, counter-terrorism, defence, and other important issues during the meeting.
"All other substantive bilateral issues will depend on the degree to which both leaders will be able to create chemistry and see eye-to-eye on key challenges, including how to contain China and re-engage Russian Federation. or if both countries should continue to expand their economic and defence partnership".
As Mr Modi put it on Twitter on Friday: "Strong India-USA ties benefit our nations & the world".
"I look forward to this opportunity to have an in-depth exchange of views on further consolidating the robust and wide ranging partnership between India and the United States", the prime minister said.
The prime minister will be visiting Washington on 24-26 June, at the invitation of President Donald Trump.
