Friend Of Late 'Toy Story' Writer Reveals Andy's Heartbreaking Backstory

Well, story consultant on the film, Mike Mozart, may have given us the answer in a YouTube livestream event.

Fan theories have speculated on what might have happened, but this week we got word from an official source.

He said Ranft said Andy's father, Andy Sr., was the original owner of Woody, Mr. Potato Head and Slinky Dog in the '50s and that he is the only person to own a Sheriff Woody doll.

Over the course of the Toy Story films, we've laughed, we've most certainly cried and we've tried desperately to catch our own childhood toys out in the act.

Let's back up. This week, YouTuber Jonathan Carlin of Super Carlin Brothers published his video interview with Mike Mozart, a toy designer who was friends with Joe Ranft, the Pixar head writer who co-wrote "Toy Story". The general consensus has been that either Andy's parents are divorced, or his dad died.

Who was the Pixar insider that eliminated the questionable credibility of this now-viral, yet false report about Andy's dad? However, as Pixar films and the hardworking men and women that made them have taught moviegoers over the years, there is nothing wrong with leaving enough room for your imagination to fill in the gaps.

And it turns out that Woody isn't only rare, he's one of a kind, the 1950s prototype of a cereal company giveaway that never made it to production (something about Sputnik getting in the way).

Crowd catches teen falling from park ride; no serious injury
Quick-thinking bystanders chose to step in and told the girl to wriggle free and drop down from the ride so they could catch her. She was taken to Albany Medical Centre in a stable condition with no serious injuries, The Warren County Sheriff's office said.

Mozart claimed to be friends with deceased former Pixar head writer, Joe Ranft, who allegedly shared the backstory of the missing father from the films to Mozart at a meeting. He eventually recovered from the disease, grew up, got married and had a son who he named after himself.

"Complete and utter fake news", Andrew tweeted on Saturday (Jun 24).

That is, except for Woody, Slinky, and Mr. Potato Head, because Andy Sr. crawled out of his bed (without the use of his legs) to save them from being burned, and hid them in a box.

Years later, after a healthy period in his life when he was able to marry and have children, Andy's father was stricken by Post-Polio Syndrome, and the family was forced to move back into his childhood home. Before he died, he asked his son to get the key to a chest in their attic, but by the time Andy got to it, his father had passed away.

So there you have it, the "real" story of happened to Andy's dad.
