Rafael Nadal dispatched all before him to sweep to his own La Decima at the French Open and he is not intending to stop there.

"I am very sorry to say that I am not going to be able play Queen's next week", Nadal wrote on social media.

Rafael Nadal's 2017 French Open success was the ultimate performance at Roland Garros, according to Bjorn Borg, who expects the Spaniard and Roger Federer to challenge at Wimbledon next month. I missed playing Wimbledon again [last year], so I hope my knees will hold up well and that I can have the preparation that I really need.

US Open champion Stan Wawrinka, the man Nadal beat in Sunday's final in Paris, is also due to play, as are Milos Raonic, Juan Martin Del Potro and Nick Kyrgios.

"If I have pain in my knees, then I know from experience that it's nearly impossible", The Independent quoted him as saying.

Nadal also became the first player in history to win ten titles of one Grand Slam tournament.

But the 32-year-old, the oldest Roland Garros finalist in 44 years, had no answers as Nadal eclipsed Pete Sampras on the all-time list of major champions with 15 titles.

Milos Raonic, who reached the final at Queen's and Wimbledon past year losing to Murray in both finals is a strong contender for the title of Queen's.

The 31-year-old Spaniard picked up his tenth French Open title last week, not losing a single set in the tournament.

Despite his dominance at the French Open, Nadal said he never took victory for granted. I'm very happy for everything.

Novak Djokovic has dropped out of the top three in the ATP world rankings for the first time since October 2009 after exiting the French Open in the quarter-finals.

In the match lasting for just two hours and five minutes, Nadal served four aces, while the 2014 French Open victor Wawrinka hit only one.

Nadal ended his three-year Grand Slam drought with a stunning 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 victory over Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka in the Roland Garros summit showdown that lasted for two hours.

"If I don't feel that, my chances are not good".

He was aware of being within touching distance of the title in Australia in January when he was a break up in the final set only to lose to Federer.
