Trump Lawyer Sekulow: President Has No Knowledge of Being Investigated

Jay Sekulow, a representative from President Donald Trump's legal team, said Trump is not under investigation, despite the President tweeting "I am being investigated" this week.

Former FBI Director James Comey told the Senate intelligence committee that Trump pressured him on the Russian Federation investigation and asked him to drop an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Jay Sekulow appeared on CNN's State of the Union with Jake Tapper and said Trump's Friday tweet that seemed to confirm that he was being investigated for firing former FBI director James Comey was not a confirmation of an investigation.

But Sekulow claimed the president wasn't referring to an actual investigation in the message, but instead a news report about one.

The Post reported last week that Robert Mueller - the special counsel appointed to investigate Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election - was looking into whether Trump obstructed justice.

"Witch hunt' is how Trump characterizes the probe into Russia's election interference and possible ties to his campaign associates". King and Rubio are both members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is running an investigation that partially parallels the Justice Department probe being run by Mueller. He maintained that the president's actions won't prevent any of the investigations from proceeding, and that getting to the bottom of what happened would benefit all involved, including President Trump.

Sen. Marco Rubio says it's best for the country to let the FBI's investigation into Russian Federation meddling in the 2016 presidential election take its course, and the Florida Republican tells CNN's "State of the Union" that's what he'd advise President Donald Trump.

The Revolutionary Guards immediately placed blame on Riyadh after the June 7 attacks , with Saudi Arabia rejecting the claims. The IRGC said the missile strikes were a warning to deter future Islamic State attacks.

"This is is going to move forward", he said. "The best thing that could happen for the president, and the country, is a full and credible investigation".

Rep. Adam Schiff says he wants the White House to acknowledge the tapes or make clear there are no tapes and "it was an idle threat".

The panel sent a bipartisan letter this month to White House counsel Don McGahn seeking an answer by this Friday.

Schiff says if the panel can't get an answer then he believes a subpoena will be needed.

Sekulow stressed repeatedly that Trump is not under investigation. Angus King of ME, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats.

Comey had testified that as of the time he was sacked by Trump on May 9, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was not investigating Trump, but the Post story said that changed days later with Comey's firing. This is a very complex matter, involving thousands of pages of intelligence documents, lots of witnesses.

He spoke on ABC's "This Week".
