The Journal's request sought recordings or transcripts of any recordings made after January 20 at the White House. It did not rule out that the conversations between Trump and Comey could have been recorded by another entity.

The US Secret Service says it does not have any audio recordings or transcripts of US President Donald Trump's White House conversations.

Specifically, the Wall Street Journal requested any information pertaining to all recording systems installed by the Secret Service or any other agency within the White House on or after November 8, 2017, as well as any recordings or transcripts of any recordings made after the inauguration within the White House.

On Thursday, Comey said Trump's tweet was his motivation for telling a friend to relay the contents of memos detailing his meetings with Trump to the press - which, Comey said, he hoped would in turn prompt the appointment of a special counsel to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

"In response to your request, the Secret Service has conducted a reasonable search for responsive records", the Secret Service wrote in response to The Journal's FOIA request in May.

Cosby said in a radio interview before the trial he hoped to resume his performing career after the Constand case was resolved. Cosby is on trial for sexual assault. "We will get to do it again." said Dolores Roiani, Constand's lawyer.

Members of Congressional committees investigating Russian meddling in the election have shown interest in whether Mr Trump did tape his White House conversations with Mr Comey or anyone else.

At Monday's White House Press briefing, Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that Mr. Trump would address the issue of any tapes "when he's ready".

That doesn't mean that Trump didn't record his guests himself, or enlist White House staff to do so.

Comey suggested in his high-profile Senate testimony last week that any recordings would back up his account over the president's, adding, "Lordy, I hope there are tapes". In a Friday event in the Rose Garden, Trump again refused to do so while promising to unveil whether or not he taped Comey "maybe sometime in the very near future".

Asked whether she would find out, Sanders joked that she would "look under the couches".
