Numerous Republican lawmakers have hailed the testimony as a vindication of Trump, as Comey confirmed he told the USA president he was not under the FBI investigation in the alleged Russian Federation collusion case and had informed the Senate of that fact.

The widened Russian Federation probe could have far-reaching repercussions for Trump's presidency, transforming his closest aides into witnesses and sucking yet more political oxygen out of the West Wing.
In addition, officials also said investigators have been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates.
Mr Mueller was appointed as special counsel to investigate Moscow's involvement in the presidential election a year ago and possible collusion by Trump campaign associates with the Russians, but there has been no indication that Mr Mueller told the president to fire Mr Comey.
"They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story".

In his letter to Comey announcing his firing on May 9, Trump thanked the ousted FBI Director for "informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation".
