The Golden State Warriors regained the National Basketball Association title from the Cleveland Cavaliers as a 129-120 win on Monday night sealed the finals series 4-1.
Cleveland last season became the first team ever to overturn a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven finals but after falling 3-0 down this time around, they were only able to pull one game back before the Warriors finished the job.
LeBron James, whose Cavaliers won the title past year and fell to the Warriors on Monday, said during a visit to Obama's White House in November that his team would "have to cross that road" if it triumphed again under Trump.
It validated the notion of Warriors general manager Bob Myers, who risked what he had built counting on Durant to be the final piece in building a juggernaut.
