At least 12 people were killed in three explosions in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Saturday, it has been reported. The country is under attack.
Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of downtown Kabul demanding better security in the capital in the wake of the truck attack.
He died after being seriously injured in clashes during Friday's protest.
Attendees were gathered to mourn a victim of deadly violence a day earlier during protests decrying lack of security.
Talking about the terrorist attack in Kabul on Wednesday, May 31, the Ambassador strongly denied accusations by Afghan intelligence that the Pakistani-based Haqqani Network was responsible for the massive truck bomb, which killed 90 people and wounded over 400 and decimated Kabul's diplomatic sector. "Three big bangs" went off at the funeral of Salem Izadyar, the son of Mohammad Alam Izadyar, first deputy chairman of the Afghan Senate, a witness told CNN. He also called on members of the public not to join the demonstration.
A report by Germany's dpa news agency citing an unidentified security official put the death toll at 20 people, with 18 people wounded.

Ahmadzai and General Murad Ali Murad, a deputy interior minister, urged the protesters to end their demonstration, citing fears that suicide attackers would target such rallies, as they did past year.
However, an Afghan MP said on Friday that eight protesters had been shot dead, while a hospital official said four corpses had been brought to his facility.
As the protesters attempted to move closer to the Presidential Palace, police sprayed them with hoses from a water tanker and later fired tear gas.
"The genuine anger expressed by the protesters, many of whom suffered the loss of family and friends, is fully understandable", Tadamichi Yamamoto, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Afghanistan, said Friday in a statement.
"Any government attempt to disrupt our fair and just demonstration will show their complicity with terrorist groups and the perpetrators of Wednesday s attack", said Asif Ashna, a spokesman for the protesters.
It further complicates the situation confronting United States and coalition officials as they work on plans expected to see an increase of between 3,000 and 5,000 in the number of foreign troops in Afghanistan.
In a sign of how alarmed Afghanistan's global partners have become at the violence and possible impact on political stability, the United Nations special representative in Afghanistan, Tadamichi Yamamoto, also appealed for restraint.
