Burger, the 2017 MVC Player of the Year, also leads the circuit and ranks sixth nationally in runs scored (69), while rating among the nation's top 25 hitters in total bases (160) and RBIs (65) as well.

According to a pre-draft interview, Burger's favorite players were either former White Sox slugger Paul Konerko or former Cardianal Scott Rolen.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Burger now projects as a third baseman but with limited range some scouts believe his future could be at first base. "Last year we felt we had added the best left-handed power in the country [in catcher Zack Collins of Miami] and this year we added the best right-handed power in the country".

"We identified Jake early and knew that he was the guy that hit-wise was exactly what we wanted to do as an organization", Hostetler said.

Sessions' testimony to Congress Tuesday to be open to public
The hearing will bring sharp questioning for Sessions and likely some uncomfortable moments from the Trump administration. He said Trump reached out to him again after the inauguration but he refused to call back, shortly before he was sacked .

Hostetler described Burger as a high-energy, fun person who is an "exceptional leader". He said Burger should be able to handle an assignment to Class-A Kannapolis, though he might start in rookie ball to become acclimated. He was a.339 hitter with 47 homers across three college seasons.

White manages the strike zone well and usually focuses on hitting line drives from gap to gap with a relatively flat swing.

"While Burger isn't the most graceful player, one scout compared him to Hunter Pence for his ability to get the job done in less than pretty fashion". Despite his large frame, he has average speed out of the batter's box and decent range at third base.
