After suffering the greatest collapse in NBA Finals history, the Golden State Warriors got their revenge on the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeating them in five games (with a 129-120 victory in the final face-off) to win the 2017 NBA Finals.
Bouncing back from a Game 4 thrashing that saw Cleveland opening up the game with 49 points in the first quarter and 86 first-half points overall, both the most in NBA Finals history. Whether it's true or not, the story of Draymond Green calling Warriors general manager Bob Myers while sitting in his auto outside of Oracle Arena, demanding that the team do everything possible to get Kevin Durant in the offseason was exactly what Golden State needed to topple the Cavs. Last summer, Durant, who chose to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency, elected to join forces with another superstar in Stephen Curry as well as Draymond Green and Klay Thompson to make Golden State a super team, and the group was close to unstoppable in the regular season and postseason.
LeBron James already has made plenty of highlight-reel plays during the 2017 NBA Finals, and he added to that during the second quarter of Game 5 at Oracle Arena. He has a championship.
CNBC reached out to the Golden State Warriors and NBATickets.com, but neither could confirm the sale. Their one title came previous year when the Cavs became the first National Basketball Association team to rally from a 3-1 Finals deficit to deliver the city its first major championship since 1964.

The subsequent general election saw the Labour government going in with a 43-seat majority, losing by 54 seats. Mrs May had no need to call an early election; she was secure for another two or so years.
The Warriors responded with a 28-4 run for a lead they never gave up after that.
James registered 41 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists for Cleveland in the loss.
Cleveland's hot shooting countered a Warriors surge, and the Cavs ended the first period with consecutive baskets on their last two offensive trips. West shoved Irving to pick up a technical foul, then went chest-to-chest with Tristan Thompson.
Monday's game is at home for the Warriors, as would be Game 7 if the series is to advance.
The Warriors won in 2015 before the Cavs made their historic comeback a year ago.
With a much-improved bench led by Iguodala, JaVale McGee, Shaun Livingston and West, that "Strength In Numbers" slogan that has become such a staple the past two seasons shined all season long, from Durant's 19-game absence late in the regular season with a left knee injury to assistant coach Mike Brown stepping in for 11 postseason games to lead the way while Steve Kerr was ailing.
