The 29-year-old previously worked with Caixinha at Nacional in Portugal and believes their reunion can see him recapture his best form.
Candeias moved in a £700,000 deal and believes Caixinha can help him shine again.
His first loan move from Benfica saw him join FC Nurnberg in Germany, where he scored two goals in 16 appearances, and later played 11 times for Spanish side Granada before a temporary move to French club Metz, where he netted twice in 28 games.
A former Portugal age-group global who has yet to make a senior worldwide appearance, Candeias joined Benfica from Naçional Madeira in 2014 but failed to make a first-team breakthrough with the Lisbon giants and has instead spent the last three seasons on loan to clubs outside Portugal.
