The game appears to focus on two major characters from the first season of Life is unusual, which launched in 2015: Chloe Price and her best friend, Rachel Amber. Shown off on stage at Microsoft's E3 2017 briefing, the first episode for Life is Strange: Before the Storm is set to arrive on August 31.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm will be a multiplatform title that has 4K support on Xbox One X.
It'll be interesting to see whether this will feature similar time-bending mechanics or whether this will be a purely narrative-driven story. You'll also get an insight into some of the relationships that Chloe had formed before Max came back during the events of the first Life is unusual. The studio and its development team went under a rebranding recently to focus on narrative-driven games, like Life is odd.

The original Life is unusual debuted its first of five episodes in January 2015. Players will take on the role of a rebellious 16 year-old Chloe Price who forms an unlikely friendship with Rachel Amber; a handsome and popular girl destined for success. "Many people can identify a particular person who significantly influenced their life; the person that ultimately shaped who they became". Before the Storm is being made by Deck Nine Games, the Denver-area developer that was founded in 1997 as Idol Minds.
Scenes showed story moments set some years before that of the original Life is odd series, when its main character Max was absent, when Chloe had not yet turned full blue-hair punk, and when missing teen Rachel Amber was still around. "It's an absolute privilege to work on the next game in the series and it's our chance to do justice to the series and prove the quality of our unique StoryForge toolset from our very talented team".
