Dash cam footage of Tiger Woods' DUI arrest released

Jupiter (NBC) - Tiger Woods was busted early Monday for allegedly driving under the influence in Florida.

He was released "on his own recognizance" which means he promises to co-operate with future legal proceedings.

"I asked Woods if he knew where he was at to which he stated he had no idea", an officer wrote in the report.

According to the report, Woods was confused and asked how far he was from his Hobe Sound home.

Somers' comments came the same day a dash cam video of Woods being arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated was released.

The footage, made public last night by the Jupiter, Fla., police department, shows Woods wearing a white T-shirt and a black baseball cap, standing barefoot on the right side of the road and unable to perform the tasks asked of him by police.

The Mercedes, which still had its engine running, brake lights on and right indicator flashing, was said to have sustained "fresh damage". Prior to the arrest, police found the athlete asleep behind the wheel of his parked auto. Both tires on the left side of the auto were flat, and police said there was fresh damage to the driver's side. Woods tells the officer that he was "coming from Jupiter, Florida", and when asked if he knew where he was going, Woods says "no" and that he likes "to drive".

Later Woods tells another officer he is in Los Angeles and was heading to Orange County.

He later managed to recite the alphabet, and after completion, he was asked to put his hands behind his back and was handcuffed and placed under arrest.

A breath test registered a blood alcohol level of 0.00%.

Woods, who has been rehabbing from back surgery, said he didn't realize the mix of medications would affect him so strongly.

Police say Woods was "asleep at the wheel" and that he "had to be woken up". "If indeed he is taking multiple medicines and they interacted with each other and knocked him out and he didn't anticipate it then I think he fully recovers", said Zimbalist.

When the golfer got out of the vehicle, he was swaying and using his arms to balance, the incident report said.
