Irving, James lead Cavaliers over Warriors to avoid sweep

Last night they demolished the Golden State Warriors 137-116 setting many records, both individual and team, and along with this fact, they extended the hope of performing a miracle in the finals and cut down the deficit to 3-1. This set the tone for the entire quarter (49 points, the highest in an National Basketball Association playoff game ever) and for the first-half (86 points, highest ever in National Basketball Association finals history).

The Cavaliers answered immediately - with Kyrie Irving scoring on the next two possessions, drilling a three-pointer and hitting a floater to put Cleveland back up 19 and Game 4 essentially on ice. Maybe James will pay for Wade to travel to Oracle Arena for Game 5 on Monday. "If we play like we did tonight, it's very possible".

Whenever the Warriors looked like they might go on a run and start chipping away at the lead, the home side responded with a rim-rocking dunk from James, a three-pointer from Irving or some tenacious defense.

The Warriors received a subpar performance from starting guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who combined for just 27 points on 8 of 24 shooting.

Golden State's usually sharp-shooting offense never found its rhythm and the Cavaliers never took their collective foot off the pedal, leading by as many as 22 points late in the second quarter.

Golden State's Draymond Green was whistled for a technical foul in the first half. The opportunity is win it here, so you want to take advantage of that. Who didn't expect LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to come out the gate red-hot in a desperation game-at home?

London attack: Death toll rises to 8 after police recover body
The BBC reports that Thomas was last seen on London Bridge walking with his girlfriend, who was seriously injured in the violence. Three men have been arrested on suspicion of terror offences in east London following a series of raids involving armed police.

"It's part of the game, I understand that".

Cleveland stopped Golden State's ideal postseason and possibly started another comeback.

Kevin Love added 23 points for Cleveland, which made 24 three-pointers and finished the first half with a jaw-dropping 86 points.

The Cavaliers, who a year ago made an unprecedented rally from a 3-1 Finals deficit to beat the Warriors, were physical right from the opening tip in what was easily the most emotionally-charged game of the series. "And I think it came from Draymond, which is OK". Bogut is no longer with the Warriors, Durant is here to stay and Green has been under control for much of the series.

The defending champions came into Friday's meeting at the Quicken Loans Arena 3-0 down in the best-of-seven series with the Warriors standing on the brink of history, seeking to become the first side to go 16-0 in the playoffs. In Game 2, the Warriors broke the Finals record for most 3s in a game with 18. "The aggressor usually gets the whistle and they were the aggressor". A triple double is notching 10 or more in three different statistical categories - typically points, rebounds and assists. The referee then pointed out that the first technical given to Green in the first quarter was actually for Warriors coach Steve Kerr and was not communicated properly to the scoring desk. They made some tough shots, but we were not sharp defensively, so always a combination. Technicals - GS coach Kerr, Durant, Green, Pachulia, Dah.Jones, James, Shumpert.

Before the night was over, the pulsating, packed house at The Q saw LeBron James and Kevin Durant barking at one another at center court, Draymond Green almost being tossed and (constantly being serenated) and Zaza Pachulia getting away with what looked like a shot to Iman Shumpert's groin following a second-half scrum.
