Just a week after Hamas officials were expelled from Qatar amid a diplomatic crisis with the Arab Gulf over accusations of terrorist funding, a senior Hamas official announced Saturday that a delegation plans to visit Iran in a bid for further global support. If it does, the result could be disastrous for Hamas-ruled Gaza.

The report said al-Arouri, Hamas' military commander in the West Bank, and others, had been told to leave Qatar after Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, and Egypt, in an unprecedented move on Monday, cut off most diplomatic and economic ties with Qatar. The terror group expressed shock over the demand.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees on Friday said it has protested to the Islamist movement Hamas after finding a tunnel under two of its schools in the Gaza Strip. Israel later withdrew from Gaza but lay a siege to it.

Israel and Hamas have fought three wars in the Gaza Strip since the group wrested control of the territory from the rival Fatah movement of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas in 2007.

Miller pointed out that the jihadists have "demonstrated resilience against Egyptian forces, and so an explosion in Gaza poses serious consequences".

"The U.S. has a stake in Arab unity ... and there will be political and commercial forces trying to get back a normal relationship with Qatar", he said.

"It is no secret to anyone how the Zionist enemy exploits such statements to commit more violations and crimes against our people and our land and our sanctities and the right of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque", it added.

Hamas said in a statement early Wednesday that al-Jubeir's remarks "constitute a shock for our Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic nations". The demonstrations aim at protesting the Israeli continuous siege and the deterioration of humanitarian conditions in Gaza due to power and health crises, PIC reported.
