Developers who have gotten their hands on the iOS 11 beta, however, have shared some evidence that there's still hope for smartphone productivity enthusiasts: multiple screencap videos posted to Twitter show off the new functionality working on the iPhone, too.
Well, with iOS 11, iPhone and iPad users can now enjoy the WiFi password sharing features first innovated by Microsoft.
Deleting apps that are gathering dust is useful for reclaiming storage space and generally keeping your iPhone or iPad running smoothly, but before iOS 11 appeared, deleting apps also meant erasing the settings and other related data for an app. At its developer conference in May, Google rolled out new Tango tricks, including an ability to navigate inside retail stores. Then, click "yes", and the new device will be connected.
This video looks more promising - but developers are already speculating it could just be a bug in the beta, rather than an actual feature.
The screen is incredible, with detailed images like a 3D map of NY rendered beautifully on the faster 120Hz display. On the iPad side, iOS 11 will work on the iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, 12.9-inch iPad Pro, iPad mini 4, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, 5th-generation iPad, 2nd-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro and 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
Identities of two London Bridge attackers revealed
In a letter posted outside Tuesday, the Ummah Fitness Centre said staff would "help the police in any way we can". Transport for London confirmed he worked for London Underground in customer services before leaving last October.
The most important change to the iMac comes in the GPU department though.
Vega's inclusion is the most surprising aspect of the iMac Pro. What do you guys think of the new iMacs? The 4K version moves up to a discrete AMD Radeon Pro 555 or 560 with up to 4GB of VRAM.
Apple today also gave a sneak peak of the upcoming iMac Pro, which will ship at the end of the year with an 8-core Intel Xeon processor, with options going up to 18 cores. Like the HomePod, this souped-up machine isn't due in stores until December. It is also expected to get new chips and increased RAM.
An entire section of the two-hour presentation was dedicated to how Apple is turning the iPad Pro into a laptop. The operating system, available as a free upgrade later this year, brings with it a smarter Safari, a revamped file system, and better graphics processing, including (surprise surprise) native VR support. Person-to-person payments through Apple Pay puts Apple in direct competition with PayPal's Venmo. But to try and use that to turn the iPad into a desktop is simply ridiculous. The platform has been created in such a way that it is able to take advantage of the iPhone's camera, motion sensors and graphics processors, to allow developers create apps and games that combines the real world with the virtual world.
