A terrorist threat led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of music fans Friday from the Rock am Ring festival in Nuerburg, Germany, police and concert organizers said.

Organizers of the Rock am Ring festival said in statement that police had warned of a bomb threat against the event and cleared out the festival to perform a security sweep.
Security services are maintaining a high-alert status at other festival sites.
There was also a discrepancy with those individuals' backstage passes not matching their real names.
This year, things got a little scary when German authorities had to evacuate festival goers and close down the event for the day after receiving information about a suspected terror threat.
"Set up for day two of Rock am Ring has commenced and the program is going to be resumed in the early afternoon", the festival said.
Durant dagger lifts Warriors past Cavs
Over the years, Cavs-Warriors has become the NBA's best rivalry, and this year's lopsided Finals most likely won't help that. The Cavs played an nearly flawless game and they still came up short, and that's hard for Cavs fans to admit, but it's true.
Launched in 1985, Rock am Ring takes place annually at the Nürburgring and some 85,000 people were expected to attend this year's edition.
The German band Rammstein was the Friday night headliner, but hadn't yet started playing.
Festival organisers have since updated patrons once again saying that they hope to continue the festival tomorrow and will hold a press conference at 11am Saturday, German time, to provide further updates.
The rock festival's official Facebook page thanked fans for their "incredibly disciplined behaviour" and "exemplary cooperation".
"Due to a terror danger situation, we told the organiser to temporarily stop the concert as a precaution", local police said in a statement, according to Variety.
Germany has been on edge since a string of deadly attacks on public venues previous year.
