Apple announces upgrades across all its Macs at WWDC 2017

Even the lowly MacBook is getting an upgrade, the new seventh-generation Intel Core i7 hits 1.3GHz, and offers a 50 percent faster SSD and supports twice the amount of RAM. The company also unveiled what it's calling its most powerful computer ever, a brand new iMac Pro. This might not be a huge step, but it will certainly encourage Apple to cater to more Indian languages, in terms of phonetics.The HomePod is Apple's first new gadget in nearly three years, following its announcement of the Apple Watch in September 2014. This will mean better performance, improved power efficiency, and higher turbo boost clock speeds. Meanwhile, the 27-inch iMac will receive Radeon Pro 570, 575, and 580 GPUs.

With the new hardware and new software partnerships announced by Apple, it's now possible to develop VR games and apps straight from an iMac. There is a drop for the 21.5-inch 4K iMac though, which is going down to $1,499 for the cheapest configuration.

Prices are sticking at US$1,099 for the entry level 21.5-inch iMac, while the top-end 27-inch 5K model stays at $1,799.

On YouTube, there are a pair of videos teasing the upcoming iMac Pro, which will be released in December starting at $4999. "This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time", said John Ternus, Apple's vice president of Hardware Engineering. That said, rumor has it that Apple may also make a few surprise hardware announcements as well, including a new edgeless 10.5-inch iPad and a long-rumored Siri-based speaker created to go head to head with Amazon's Echo and Google Home.

As it usually does, Apple showcased a handful of videos during its keynote address at WWDC earlier today and now the company has uploaded the videos to YouTube, including product videos for the HomePod, new iPad Pro, and new iMac Pro... The unit will have Apple's 5K display and will utilize a new dual centrifugal fan structure to keep cooling quiet and efficient.
