At long last, J.D. Martinez is back.
J.D. Martinez spent almost six weeks on the disabled list to start the season after suffering a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot during spring training. He'll likely make his season debut Friday night versus the Angels.
As Fenech points out, it's been seven weeks to the day since Martinez suffered a lisfranc sprain in his right foot while making a sliding catch in Spring Training. It was originally believed he would return by mid-to-late April.
Ransomware cyber strike 'biggest in history'
French carmaker Renault 's assembly plant in Slovenia halted production after it was targeted in the global cyberattack. Deutsche Bahn said: "Due to a Trojan attack there are system failures in various areas".
In 120 games last season, Martinez hit 22 home runs and 35 doubles, slugging.535 and finishing with a.908 OPS.
The offense actually thrived in Martinez's absence, thanks in large part to fill-ins such as Adduci. He had missing five games with a hamstring issue. However, if the Tigers' team performance begins to slip, then Martinez could find himself as a trade candidate.
