As per the executive order, the "Commission on Election Integrity" will study vulnerabilities in voting systems used for federal elections that could lead to improper voter registrations, improper voting, fraudulent voter registrations, and fraudulent voting.
The League of Women Voters said: "The real goal of this effort is to justify President Trump's false claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2016 elections".
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday that the commission plans to have its work completed by 2018.
Trump signed an executive order Wednesday establishing a commission tasked with reviewing Trump's allegations that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 elections.
The newly formed body, called the "Presidential Commission on Election Integrity", will be spearheaded by Vice President Mike Pence and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach-who will serve as chair and vice chair, respectively.
Dunlap acknowledges some Democratic secretaries of state have advised him not to legitimize what some believe will be a contrived review sanctioned by a White House that has repeatedly made unsupported claims of widespread voter fraud. Since the Supreme Court struck down in 2013 a key part of the Voting Rights Act, Kobach has been at the center of many legal skirmishes over voting requirements nationwide. There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, or for that matter, anything more than the case here and there that Kobach has been able to prosecute.
It is incumbent upon all Americans to stand up and challenge the lies that Republicans like Trump and Kobach use to limit the our most basic and fundamental civil right.

In a House Intelligence Committee hearing on Russian election tampering in March, voter fraud became a topic of questioning - Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., asked Comey if the Federal Bureau of Investigation had any evidence that votes were changed in states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, and OH, to which Comey answered "No". And he's a strong advocate of strict voter I.D. laws.

"They all voted for Hillary. They didn't vote for me", Trump said in an interview with ABC News that aired January 25. "He is exactly the wrong person to be involved in any commission on voter fraud".
President Donald Trump tried to legitimize another one of his conspiracy theories this week with the creation of a panel to investigate voter fraud.
He said only twice has he forwarded to the attorney general cases of potential double voting, and that ultimately prosecutors declined to bring charges because, upon investigation, the two people had moved and been confused about the registration paperwork they had been given.
