Mets place closer Jeurys Familia on DL

The symptoms, however, were minor, so Familia had originally been cleared to pitch. Familia is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA and three saves this season. It's no secret that the Mets compromised rotation has not performed as expected this year -with injuries a major reason for that -and they have not been able to eat up innings like in the past.
