Another student's parent said his daughter was forced to remove the button on her jeans after it set off the metal detector. While the questions and the answer keys in the exams are usually the post-exam talking points, students this time have been left baffled by the freakish dress code that was prescribed.
Also, a female candidate who appeared at a NEET centre here on Sunday claimed that she had to remove her innerwear before sitting for the entrance test. This time, in Kerala, it wasn't even a dress code - a young woman taking the NEET exam for admission into undergraduate medical courses has said she was forced to remove her bra to be allowed to sit for the exam.
The students were told that this was being done to ensure no cheating in the exams.
Replying to a submission raised by Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, the Chief Minister told the House that the actual reason behind the incident was the dress code stipulated by the CBSE.
IANS also reported that the school has launched a probe into the issue. Jamaluddin K, principal of TISK English Medium school, one of the NEET centres, told PTI that four women teachers had been suspended pending inquiry though he was yet to receive any complaint.
Trump urged to keep U.S. in climate accord
That interpretation is contested by many legal experts, however, as well as participants in past worldwide climate negotiations. US President Donald Trump has expressed scepticism about the pact.
The stripping of students and using metal detectors for physical examination were "cruel, inhuman and insulting" and created mental pressures on the students, he added.
The Kerala Human Rights Commission and Child Rights Commission have sought an explanation from the board.
On Monday, the Kerala State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) wrote to the National Human Rights Commission, seeking immediate action against the officials responsible. "I read the dress code and chose to wear black pants", she said, adding that the guidelines advised candidates to wear "light clothes with half sleeves not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flowers" but made no mention of colour. Many students came alone and some of them forgot to bring many important things like admit cards, proforma and photos. Some of them were un aware about the dress code also. "The agony and inconvenience caused to the candidate inadvertently is deeply regretted by CBSE", stated CBSE in a clarification issued today.
The duty of the exam authorities is to provide a peaceful mind and atmosphere to the students at examination halls.
