LAS VEGAS Some four hours before countrymen Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez squared off in the super middleweight main event at T-Mobile Arena, thousands of fans were outside the arena in full party mode, chanting either "Canelo" or "Chavez". And, true, over the past few years Chavez Jr. and Alvarez have come close to blows with their war of words and of course that always leads up to a major billing which this fight has become.

The Kazakh boxer is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world and beat Kell Brook in London past year to end his unbeaten record.

Alvarez announced he'll take on unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin on September 16, cueing a promotional video on the big screen. "Even though he will face a bigger, stronger man and will be fighting at by far his heaviest weight, I think he'll turn back a stiff challenge from Chavez and win a decision".

Mayweather says everyone is hoping for a Canelo vs. GGG bout and it takes time to build to that matchup. "The fight is done". With their score settled, Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. can go their separate ways, leaving behind a trail of overwhelming evidence that their paths never should have crossed in the ring.

Alvarez, arguably the industry's biggest PPV draw, defeated fellow Mexican fighter Chavez Jr.in a lopsided unanimous decision Saturday night. "The styles are there, they should mesh together - and on my part, that's what you'll see".

Voters in South Korea choosing new president after corruption scandal
South Korea's election body says almost 64 percent of the country's 42.4 million eligible voters cast their ballots as of 3 p.m. Also running to the right of Moon is Hong Joon-pyo, a former governor and prosecutor and the Liberty Korea Party candidate.

"Everywhere in the world is bidding over this fight", De La Hoya said. I couldn't throw as many punches as I wanted.

Chavez struggled to deal with Alvarez's superior speed and power throughout, and had no answer to a series of stinging combinations from the 26-year-old that left him bleeding from both nostrils and with his left eye nearly swollen shut. "If he loses, there is no Golovkin fight".

"It is the animosity these two have for each other", De La Hoya said about the fighters.

De La Hoya, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions said the fight between Alvarez and Golovkin is, "signed, sealed and delivered". "The difference is this fight will have a lot of action". Additionally, this fight will be fought at almost 10 pounds heavier (164.5) than any previous fight for Alvarez who typically fights at 155. "He is a very active fighter - he's very good and he beat me", Chavez Jr said after the fight through a translator. When you have fighters who want to make the best fights, it makes the job much easier.

The Kazakh has won all 37 of his fights with 33 by knockout, while Alvarez has just one defeat against Floyd Mayweather on his record in a 51-fight career.
