Brigitte Trogneux to take centre stage as France's First Lady

Her much younger husband, Emmanuel Macron, became the president-elect of France a day ago.

In his victory speech, Macron thanked his family and those close to him, as she joined him on stage before the traditional national anthem and kissed Macron's hand.

Already a subject of interest as the future First Lady of France, much has been made of Brigitte's love of fashion and her style, which has been described in French magazines as "modern".

According to The Mirror, the 39-year-old politician was just 16 when he chose to get married to Trogneux.

Their unusual love story captivated French tabloids and magazines.

Brigitte left her husband Andre Louis Auziere, a banker, in 2006 and married Macron a year later.

Macron and Trogneux are very matter-of-fact about their ages - and an nearly identical gap exists between Trump and First Lady Melania - and have brushed aside suggestions that their initial liaison was inappropriate, or even illegal.

At the economy ministry, she was a discreet presence during meetings with officials in the modernist Bercy building by the Seine in eastern Paris.

He would not declare his presidential bid until three months later, on November 16, 2016, but by then he had already started making the relationship with Trogneux - almost 25 years his senior - an integral part of his public persona.

And Trogneux proved to to be a campaign asset for Macron. She was directing him in a school play and was married with children.

"She's rock'n'roll. Not for a second does she say, 'I'm 63, so I can not wear short skirts.' Twelve-inch heels, sleeveless dresses, leather pants, she dares everything", Delphine de Canecaude, a Paris-based art director, told L'Express: "She is a mega wonderwoman".

"She will have an existence, she will have a voice there, a view on things". The latter also said that Brigitte Macron is " one of the few to be able to put a stop on her husband "; Last anecdote which speaks volumes about their unshakable complicity.

"At the age of 17, Emmanuel said to me, 'Whatever you do, I will marry you!'".
