Marcus Rashford was decisive again, scoring from a free kick in the second half for Manchester United to beat Celta Vigo 1-0 in the first leg of the Europa League semifinals on Thursday.
'He's a 19-year-old kid but he's a 19-year-old kid in love with football, ' he said.
However, Mourinho praised Rashford's ability to handle the pressure since Zlatan Ibrahimovic's season was ended by a cruciate ligament injury.
The away goal could prove crucial but the narrow winning margin means Mourinho will, as suggested on the eve of the first leg, rest several players when United return to Premier League action on Sunday.
"The Man Utd fans expect more than sitting back and taking a 0-0 draw, so I think we are going to have even more space", he added. "His knowledge of the game and his game intelligence will continue to grow and he'll keep learning and go from there".
Ottawa Senators: An Aura of Panic Surrounds the Nation's Captial
After both teams could not manage to score in the first overtime, a second overtime was to be played. The Senators fired 15 shots in the opening period after finishing with just 23 total in Game 4.
"Of late he's been put on set-pieces and his corner delivery and free-kicks have been excellent". He just got a big boost with Paul Pogba returning from injury, but Jones and Smalling have drawn Mourinho's ire in particular, with the Portuguese manager previously suggesting the two should do whatever it takes to ensure they make it on the pitch against Celta.
Rashford was hauled down just outside the box but picked himself up to curl a shot over the wall and past the right hand of Alvarez, who had moved to his left.
"Let's hope Old Trafford wants us to win because, when Old Trafford wants, we win so that's what we want". We have to give everything on Thursday, give everything to get to the final.
It looked like Jose Mourinho's men were going to be in for a frustrating night in Spain when they had the better of the first half but failed to take advantage of their goalscoring opportunities, a familiar theme from their Premier League campaign.
"The Champions League is massive and United should be there. It's unfortunate we're in this competition this year but week in, week out we've given 100 per cent in the Europa League".
