Disappointed Toure prefers no referees for Manchester derby

Yaya Toure believes the only way for Manchester City to effectively put FA Cup heartache against Arsenal behind them is with victory in Thursday's derby against United.

City came close to striking first when the diminutive David Silva rose to meet Aguero's cross with a header that Petr Cech pushed over.Silva departed due to injury soon after, but City monopolised possession and Arsenal were often reduced to kicking their opponents out of their rhythm.

His Manchester City side blamed referee Craig Pawson's decision to have cost them the FA Cup final after ruling out a goal when Leroy Sane's cross was judged to have gone out of play.

Per BBC Sport, he said: "I think the referees have to stop this".

Of course we will get a referee on Thursday, but regardless of Martin Atkinson's performance in the Derby, Yaya expects a tough match that will have a big impact in the Top4 race. "I think we have a great team and I hope he's going to be fit but it's going to be hard because a hamstring is always tough to recover [from] quickly. You have to cope with that", Toure said, having also seen Aguero and Fernandinho limp off moments before Sanchez's victor.

'Maybe on Thursday we are going to have a better referee or maybe play without a referee - I'd prefer that'.

Moyes refuses to accept relegation is inevitable for Sunderland
Sunderland boss David Moyes is adamant his side still have belief they can avoid the drop as they prepare to face Middlesbrough . As such, we think they have reasons to be cautiously optimistic. "We haven't done that enough this season", he told reporters.

"It is a very big game, an important game", Toure said. "This was quite unusual, very sad".

"Did you think Pep Guardiola accepted to lose the game?" You know what I mean, the FA are going to come and fine me.

"If we have to talk about referees, people are going to say we complain - but when we see the highlights, it is very disappointing".

Pep Guardiola's side now occupy the fourth of the Champions League positions, with United just a point behind in a tight race.

After Monaco dumped Guardiola's men out of the Champions League last month, draws with Liverpool and Arsenal and a defeat at Chelsea complicated their position as they aim to return to Europe's elite competition.

"City have been able to qualify for the Champions League for seven years now". What we do we're going to do for him, because it was sad when he was in the dressing room, he wanted to help us.
