Hawks star Millsap says Wizards 'were playing MMA' in game-one win

Washington won the series opener 114-107 on Sunday.

According to the NBA's PIE Player Impact Estimate, or PIE, rating, which measures a player's overall statistical contribution against the total statistics in games they play in, Wall was responsible for a third of all game events (points, rebounds, assists, etc.) in the third quarter, almost double his average during the regular season (15.3).

Wall scored 32 points and Beal had 16 of his 31 in the fourth quarter as the Wizards outdueled the Hawks 109-101 on Wednesday night to take a 2-0 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series. "He's played well for us and I think we're expecting him to have a good game Wednesday". He finished the game with 32 points and 14 assists, proving he was the best player on the court.

Leading 99-96, Wall scored four straight points and then Beal closed it with a three-pointer with 38 seconds remaining to put them up 106-98.

Al Horford had 19 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Celtics. He stuffed Dwight Howard multiple times, grabbed six offensive rebounds, and paced the Wizards in the first half when Beal and Wall combined for 8/22 from the field.

After a sloppy first half for both teams with plenty of fouls, missed shots and free throws, Wall and Morris stepped it up a notch in the third quarter. Hawks centre Howard had just six points and seven rebounds.

Words were exchanged. Morris didn't really remember after the game what he said, or he just wanted to appear like he forgot. "You can't just single out one guy but he was a big part of it". After a quick visit to the trainer, he calmly made all three free throws. That's how he plays: he plays with chip on his shoulder [and] he plays with an edge. His bigger impact was on the defensive end. In addition to the Wizards' lingering injuries, Hawks' Paul Milsap reflected on the Wizards MMA style of play on Sunday.

The move was confirmed by Mr Coyne's spokesman, but the union have declined to comment. Unite has 1.4 million members, and past year donated £1.5 million to the Labour party.

Foul trouble plagued Washington's frontcourt and taxed its second unit. The over/under total for the game is listed at 210.5 points.

The Wizards anticipate having center Jason Smith (knee) and Kelly Oubre Jr. He has enjoyed the best season of his career since signing a new contract with the Wizards, and they are incredibly tough to beat when he and Wall are both clicking.

In that third quarter, the Wizards acted out that statistic.

"This is my house", Wall said about the play. I'm not going to turn this into a personal battle between me and Morris. He's trying to find his teammates at all times. "I trash talk all the time". "It was finally good to see him make some shots".

It started at the 10:34 mark of the fourth quarter when Jennings hit a stepback jumper over Jose Calderon.

Where: Verizon Center, Washington, D.C.

"I heard Millsap saying they don't want Brad and John to score as much and they want to let us [other Wizards] score - basically is what he's saying", Morris said according to The Post. "We started to get a lot of stops out in transition and I got into a rhythm of knocking down shots and being more aggressive". It's better to have those three, four fouls in the fourth quarter where I can spend them just in case. "We didn't have to double team in the post anymore".
