President Trump welcomed the New England Patriots to the White House on April 19, to celebrate their Super Bowl win, but a number of key players were absent.
Even Tom Brady, the captain and star player who supported Trump through the campaign, didn't show up to the big day - which must've been a big blow to the big guy's ego.
Gronkowski, 27, did not participate in the Patriots Super Bowl win against the Atlanta Falcons, as he was recovering from a back injury.
The Patriots went to the White House Wednesday to meet with President Donald Trump, as all world championship teams do. "That was just special".
Hernandez, who played tight end alongside Gronkowski, became a young star during three seasons with New England and played in the Super Bowl following the 2011 season. The two men are close with Trump, as Kraft joined Trump and Japan's prime minister at Mar-a-Lago, and Belichick wrote a letter Trump before Election Day, which he said was done out of friendship, not politics.
Trump's choice for deputy secretary of commerce, Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts, has withdrawn his nomination, a source says, amid reports of difficulties untangling his financial holdings to the satisfaction of the government ethics watchdog.

Ronaldo had scored only two goals in the eight Champions League games he had played before the quarterfinals. They were not the only people disappointed with the refereeing.
Also not addressed in the ceremony was the morning news of former Patriots player Aaron Hernandez's suicide. He was serving time in a maximum security prison for a 2015 murder conviction.
Reiss published a statement, attributed to Brady, which said: "In light of some recent developments I am unable to attend today's ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters". The Boston Herald stated his mother, Galynn, is in town as she battles cancer. During that ceremony, President Barack Obama noted Brady's absence during his opening remarks, acknowledging that a prior family commitment kept him away.
Members of the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots are scheduled to visit President Trump Wednesday during the traditional visit to the White House.
While Sean Spicer was busy responding to a reporter during a press briefing, he was interrupted by the unmistakeable sight of Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski, who popped his head around the corner. The spokesman quickly turned and said he could handle their questions. "And I did very well with that state - thank you".
After Gronkowski left the room, Spicer - who is a diehard Patriots fan - cracked a smile.
"All right, that was pretty cool", he remarked.
