Florida's Sarasota Open temporarily halted by love making

A couple's wild and intimate rondevu interrupted a tennis match much to the amusement of the crowd and the two tennis stars.

Spectators and players alike got way more than a tennis match during Frances Tiafoe vs. Mitchell Krueger at the Sarasota Open in Florida on Tuesday.

As he prepared to serve midway through the second set, Tiafoe stopped and looked around with a childish grin.

Announcer Mike Cation, who initially thought the disruption was caused by someone playing an adult film on their phone, struggled to find an appropriate way to convey the freakish development.

"Well, that is the most freakish situation".

Krueger playfully slapped a ball in the direction of the commotion.

Also running on Monday was Ben Beach, who completed the race for an unprecedented 50th time in a row. Rounding out the top 10 were runners from California, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Utah.

A minute later, Tiafoe even offered up a critique: "It can't be that good!"

But as the moans continued, Cation realised the X-rated romp wasn't playing out on a screen at all.

"That's (coming from) an apartment across the lake", a baffled commentator says.

Tiafoe had a happy ending as he defeated his fellow American Krueger in straight sets winning 6-3, 6-2.

Some people just really, really enjoy tennis.
