Tottenham now sit just four points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, after the Blues left Old Trafford empty handed yesterday, and the momentum is now firmly in favour of Mauricio Pochettino's side as they head into the final straight.
Jose Mourinho's squad avenged its 1-4 humiliation at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge in the first half of the season and the 0-1 FA Cup quarter-finals defeat against Antonio Conte's Blues.
Conte accepted that his team "deserved" to lose and said the outcome of the match was his fault for failing to sufficiently motivate his players.
"It's a fantastic target because if we are able to reach it it's a miracle".
Mourinho played down his decision to ask Rashford to lead the line, noting he had been a regular throughout this season, but he was clearly pleased with the youngster's progress.
"I want to say I was convinced even before the cup that controlling the two players that played behind Diego [Costa]", Mourinho explained.
Chelsea has not been at its best this month-it lost at home to Crystal Palace a few weeks ago-and its coach Antonio Conte took full responsibility for the defeat, as he has done in the past.
Herrera looked to have handled the ball in the build-up to that goal but he wasn't penalized.

Although, Chelsea are favorites to win the Premier League title considering their sparkling form this season, but they now seem to be sitting on the throne of despair with six games to go. We have to react in the right way.
Mourinho added at his post-match media conference: "Normally you win the title if you are 22 matches unbeaten and we are struggling to finish top four".
United were ahead on seven minutes after Herrera had split the Chelsea defence with a flawless pass to Rashford, who swept home past Asmir Begovic. "He was subdued and I don't know why that was".
"In football, I think if you do not have the intention to touch the ball and you have your arms in a natural position it is not a handball".
Herrera was tasked with man-marking Eden Hazard throughout the match and Neville picked the Spaniard as the Man of the Match for Sky Sports after the game.
Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool's winning goal for the second straight game as his team climbed back above Manchester City into third place.
Herrera said of the team's performance: "It was nearly flawless".
"So, I am very happy with the performance". We need to realise it's not over, we need to realise there are points to play for, and we have to dig in.
