Left tackle Branden Albert is included in that group but what absent on Monday for the start of the offseason program.
After receiving the franchise tag and 2013, Albert signed a five-year contract in free agency the following year with the Miami Dolphins. His contract of $8.875 million for 2017 was unloaded on the Jaguars as a result, and it appears he wants every bit of it.
Because the tandem of veterans were technically swapped in different trades, the Jaguars were only forced to part ways with a late-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft in order to secure Albert's services.
Bartra - Worst experience of my life
"We would have wanted more time, it would have been important to help us deal with the situation", he told reporters. I don't wish anyone to have a feeling like this. "We weren't asked at any point".
Jacksonville acquired Albert from the Miami Dolphins this offseason in exchange for a 2018 seventh-round pick.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are moving out of the Gus Bradley era, and Doug Marrone will now get to try his hand full-time at building the Jags' solid roster of your talent into a potential playoff contender. The trade for Albert also meant an offensive tackle wasn't a first-round need by this organization. He's already 32 years old with nine years of National Football League wear and tear on his body. He is considered by Patra and other media as a stop-gap type of solution while the Jaguars draft someone to groom and take the left tackle position. He was the highest selected guard since Chris Naeole went 10th overall to the New Orleans Saints in the 1997 NFL Draft.
