"Due to illness, Neil Young is regrettably no longer able to induct Pearl Jam at this Year's Induction Ceremony", the Rock Hall said in a statement Wednesday shared by Rolling Stone.
In addition to Pearl Jam, the new rock class incudes the late rapper Tupac Shakur, ELO, Journey, Nile Rodgers, Joan Baez and Yes.
The Rock & Roll of Fame began its 2017 Induction Ceremony by paying homage to the first artist ever inducted.
Former Journey front-man Steve Perry reunited on stage with his Don't Stop Believin' band-mates for the first time in 25 years, while Roy Wood was also inducted into the Hall of Fame, 45 years after leaving the legendary Electric Light Orchestra. "They'd recognize injustice and stand up to it", he said.
