An all-party meeting called by the DMK in Chennai on Sunday chose to observe a bandh in Tamil Nadu on April 25 to highlight the sufferings of farmers.
The meeting passed around 15 resolutions.
Outlining the resolutions adopted at the meeting, DMK Working President MK Stalin said the Opposition leaders and farmers will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand farm loan waiver and press for the creation of a Cauvery River Authority and Cauvery Management Committee.

He demanded that the all party meeting convened by the DMK to discuss issues confronting farmers should extend its support to the rail blockade agitation. "After we walked out of the UPA alliance in 2008 on the nuclear deal, we had not participated in any meeting called by the DMK", said a CPM leader.
