The US strike against Syria was strongly condemned by Russian Federation, which also threatened to cut cooperation with the Americans in the fight against terror in Syria.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned Friday that the United States "is prepared to do more" in response to Syria's use of chemical weapons and delivered a sharp rebuke to Russian Federation for its support of the Syrian regime.

USA officials informed Russian forces ahead of the missile strikes and avoided hitting Russian personnel.

Some within US industry had suggested those earlier talks yielded little substance, and urged the Trump administration to scrap them until Beijing displayed more initiative to address complaints about its industrial policies.

"The United States took a very measured step last night", Haley told a special UN session on Friday.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said nothing "is off the table" when it comes to imposing tougher sanctions on Russian Federation and Iran in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN. "It is time for all civilised nations to stop the horrors that are taking place in Syria and demand a political solution", she said.

The Trump administration says it believes Syrian President Bashar al-Assad ordered that attack.

"The moral stain of the Assad regime could no longer go unanswered".

Meanwhile, Syrian state media reported Sunday that Russian Federation and Iran are drawing red lines after the U.S. strike.

"We strongly condemn the illegitimate actions by the US".

A visibly agitated Safronkov said Washington, London and Paris have a "paranoiac idea" of overthrowing the legitimate government in sovereign Syria.

Here's why Apple's iPhone 5, 5C may soon be obselete
If the reports are true, the iPhone 8 will most likely come at a price tag between $850 and $900 for a model with 64GB of storage. Another option could be Apple delaying the launch of the iPhone 8 with just an announcement at the iPhone event in October.

Safronkov called on the U.S. to "immediately cease" its aggression and join efforts towards a political settlement in Syria. They said the U.S. actions against a sovereign state violatied global law and called for an objective, unbiased investigation of all the circumstances of the chemical weapons incident, the statement said.

The governor of Homs, a city roughly 160 kilometers north of the capital Damascus, said at least five people were killed and seven were wounded in the United States strikes, Reuters reported.

Iran says it has military advisers and volunteers in Syria but denies having a conventional force on the ground.

Nor would it say whether the U.S. believed Assad should step down after the chemical attack on Khan Sheikhoun that killed at least 80 people and injured dozens more on Tuesday.

The air strike was a grave extrapolation of the United States strategy to support so-called moderate opposition groups, he said. That country led a purported alliance against ISIL/Daesh, while its real objective was to weaken Syria and its allies, he said.

"I think the Russians were caught off guard (by the USA strikes)", Hertling said. "The joint investigative mechanism has found beyond any doubt that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons against its own people multiple times", Haley said.

"Let's think about the possible reasons for Russia's failure". It could be that Russian Federation is knowingly allowing chemical weapons to remain in Syria. It could be that Russian Federation has been incompetent in its efforts to remove the chemical weapons.

It wasn't clear where the strikes were launched from, but the Syrian air force resumed flight operations at the base that the USA had struck Friday, two pro-regime media outlets and an opposition group said Saturday.

British Defence Secretary Michael Fallon criticised Russia's support of Assad, describing the chemical attack as a war crime that happened "on their watch".

"Well this is part of the problem in Syria, is Russia's sponsorship of this murderous regime", McMaster said on "Fox News Sunday".

"Russia has given Assad everything he could dream of", Rycroft said. Preventing the spread and use of chemical weapons is in America's "our vital national security interest", she said.
