Arrest Made In Murder Case Of Princeton Jogger

An employee at Google's New York City office, Marcotte went missing during a jog while visiting her mother.

Sources told WBZ-TV (Channel 4) that Angel Cordero Ortiz, 31, was arrested overnight and was being held at the State Police barracks in Millbury. Early also said Marcotte's killer was a man who likely suffered injuries in a struggle with Marcotte.

Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. scheduled a 2 p.m. press conference Saturday, after TV news stations reported an arrest related to the slaying of Leominster native Vanessa Marcotte, who was murdered August 7 while jogging near her mother's home.

Authorities will provide an update this afternoon about the investigation into the murder of a 27-year-old woman in Princeton, officials said after multiple news sources published reports this morning indicating an arrest has been made in the case.

Her body was later found naked and burned off Brooks Station Road just a half mile from her mother's home.
