Leicester supporters have their bags searched as they enter the stadium to watch the Champions League quarterfinal first leg soccer match between Atletico Madrid and Leicester City at the Vicente Calderon stadium in Madrid, Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Leicester defended really well and limited Atletico Madrid to shots from distance.
THE Champions League is back, with the only English team left Leicester City taking on Spanish opposition Atletico Madrid this week.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane talking on ITV's Champions League Show said: "I think Atletico will be happy to take them back them back to the King Power".
Atletico played well Wednesday and should have done better than the narrow 1-0 victory, but the players and coach Diego Simeone were celebrating the advantage they will be carrying into the return match on Tuesday. We had a few on yellows and we knew it was a tightrope. Although the French global was undoubtedly fouled by Marc Albrighton, the incident clearly took place outside of the Leicester penalty area.
Fellow pundit Lee Dixon added: "I think if you had said before the draw that you would get one of the top teams and hold them to just 1-0 away from home, Leicester would have bitten both your hands off".
Cavaliers to sign veteran Dahntay Jones
The Blazers must get plenty of production from guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, who average 50 points between them. The Cavaliers waived center Larry Sanders and signed guard Dahntay Jones and center Edy Tavares earlier in the day.
Off the resultant penalty, Griezmann sent Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel the wrong way to score what ultimately turned out to be the winning goal. Leicester has a flawless home record in its debut campaign in the Champions League, with four victories and only one goal conceded.
As Atletico pushed in vain for a second goal, Leicester's hopes of overturning the deficit in the second leg were hit when Robert Huth was booked for a foul on the effervescent Griezmann, ruling the defender out of the return encounter. "We are aware of what we need to do for the second leg".
Craig Shakespeare confirmed a massive blow to the Foxes' chances with the news that skipper Wes Morgan is out of their historic clash with a back injury. "We knew we were walking a tight rope".
"We were hard done by".
