Chandrababu Naidu to sit on fast today over special status for Andhra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who arrived in Karnataka on Sunday to launch various projects including the new building of the IIT at Dharwad, made use of the opportunity to castigate the coalition government terming Mr H.D. Kumaraswamy as a 'weak chief minister'.

A large number of AASU members were seen waving black flags to the PM and shouting slogans as his convoy crossed the gates of the Gauhati University at around 6:30 pm and a few minutes later as he crossed the premises of the AASU headquarters on M.G. Road. "That is why the honest have trust on Modi while the corrupt have a problem", he said at a public rally here.

Naidu, who has been alleging that the Opposition YSRCP is Modi's B-team, told his party cadre that the Jaganmohan Reddy-led party is extending its support to the BJP.

On Friday evening, Modi was shown black flags in at least four different locations as soon as he landed in Guwahati and was travelling from the airport to the Raj Bhawan to spend the night.

"We demand the prime minister announces tomorrow that the money taken by BJP leaders Mukul Roy (West Bengal) and Himanta Boswa Sarma in the Saradha ponzi scam be returned to the people", he added.

However, this would be Modi's first visit to the region ever since the massive protests sparked in the region over the bill that will be going to tabled soon in the Rajya Sabha soon.
