Fultz, 20, is dealing with shoulder and wrist injuries and is now out of the lineup. The focus, Brothers said, was on getting Fultz healthy despite reports that he wanted to leave Philadephia.

While Brand was not informed of any trade request, his comments about Fultz abruptly going away to see a specialist seem to indicate they were not on the same page regarding the matter.

Fultz is averaging 8.2 points and 3.1 assists this season, but shooting just 42 percent from the field, including 29 percent on 3-pointers.

According to The Athletic, the 2017 No. 1 overall pick would prefer a fresh start with a new team. He is set to see a specialist on Monday. Fultz was a 41 percent three-point shooter in college, and a great on-ball player, but he hasn't really shown that he can create his own shot at the professional level.

The Wizards (5-11) have resisted involving Wall or Beal in previous trade talks, including discussions that they held for the league's past two available stars, Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler, league sources said.

Meanwhile, Sixers head coach Brett Brown refused to comment on the trade rumors about Fultz. And I'd have to think that we're not even close to the end of it.

Joel Embiid's initial response came after Wednesday nights victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Whether or not the 76ers are ready to part ways with Fultz remains unknown, but it doesn't look like the young guard will be back on the floor anytime soon.
