Newly signed Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons believes Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez could go on to do "great things" if he joins the Italian side.

'Mahrez's problem is he has talked about a move to Arsenal for two summers now but on both occasions he has had three years remaining on his contract, ' a source at Leicester told The Sun.

The Algerian global announced in May that he wanted to leave the Foxes and manager Craig Shakespeare confirmed that the club rejected a bid from Roma while on their pre-season tour in Hong Kong.

The Algeria worldwide stated in May he wanted a new challenge, but despite rumours of interest from Tottenham and Arsenal, he remains a Leicester player.

A new attacker could be on the agenda due to on-going doubts over the future of Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal may now renew their interest in Mahrez after missing out on his signature last summer.

Tuesday's discussion comes just as the Judiciary Committee issued a subpoena for Manafort to appear at Wednesday's hearing. Investigators are also probing whether Manafort engaged in money laundering, according to The Wall Street Journal .

Liverpool are interested in Leicester's Riyad Mahrez but he is one of last players the club needs.

Whether clubs are willing to meet Leicester city's evaluation remains to be seen, however, and only time will tell how this latest transfer saga will unfold.

"I think he would see himself in a top six side and if I was Mahrez I'd be looking around at my options, I don't know if he has any, but I'd be thinking I can play for any of those teams".

'He's a Leicester player and that's all I can say'.
