China has repeatedly said it is fully enforcing United Nations sanctions on nuclear-armed North Korea and there is nothing wrong with what it terms "normal" trade with Pyongyang, referring to areas not covered by sanctions.

How to stop North Korea's march towards nuclear weapons?

American voters consider North Korea a greater threat to national security than the militant group Islamic State, a survey showed Wednesday, amid heightened concern in the U.S.in the wake of the North's test-firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Meanwhile, the U.S.is also said to be preparing to unilaterally tighten sanctions on North Korea.

As North Korea declared that it would not participate in talks on denuclearization, it has become even more hard to determine whether it will conduct another nuclear test. Analysts assume that as North Korea has been testing missile launches disguised as satellite launches, it is likely that another nuclear test will follow the ICBM launch.

Defence expert Patrick o'Rielly in his interview to Vox.Com said, "What I mean is that where we've located our missile defense technology and the kinds of capabilities we have are such that a relatively limited attack by North Korea could be neutralized". Nonetheless, China's imports from the nuclear-armed country slid by 13.2 percent to $880 million.

During the recent G20 conference, the United States, Japan and South Korea held their first trilateral summit on North Korea.
