He might debut some new music, and that date could also mark the grand opening of Kid Rock's restaurant if (as Crain's suspects) it were located at the arena - fittingly low-brow for somebody who not only loves eating at places such as Waffle House, but also fighting inside them.
It's unclear if this is a licensing deal or if Kid Rock would actually own the establishment. The clip is more of a compilation of video footage from throughout Kid Rock's career, much of it focusing on his incredible live show.
He's got a new album coming down the pike, the delayed follow-up to "First Kiss".
The new music comes as Rock continues to tease a run for U.S. Senate, including a website - KidRockforSenate.com - that earned him widespread attention this week. "Second, I'm not signed to Warner Bros!", he wrote in the post titled "Once Again the Press is Wrong".
The website features merchandise with "Kid Rock for US Senate" branding that can be purchased from a Warner Bros. -linked online store, which led some to speculate that the campaign might not be legitimate.
Kid Rock has released his new song and video, "Greatest Show on Earth".
Gains modest but Dow logs high
Benchmark U.S. crude gained 59 cents, or 1.3 percent, to settle at $46.08 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Target climbed 2.28 percent after it raised its second-quarter forecasts and said sales and customer traffic grew.
On "Greatest Show on Earth", Kid Rock returns to rap-rock form and brags: "I'm a space age cowboy shootin' the moon/ I'm a full-blown, down-home rollin' stone/ I'm a cyclone of s-t wherever I roam". Media skepticism about his political plans prompted a fiery response Thursday from the 46-year-old Romeo native, as he hyped his upcoming music and declared it to be "strategy and marketing 101!"
"First of all, I've got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC!"
Rock says he wants to be a voice for tax-paying, hardworking Americans and letting politicians know "We the People are sick and tired" of business as usual in Washington.
As I said yesterday, Kid Rock is beloved in MI and, while it remains to be seen if his kind of fame will translate to votes, I don't doubt that he has a shot at pulling off a win.
As for the release of music in conjunction with his possible Senate run announcement, he wrote, "Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and it all starts tonight at midnight".
