The White House has outlaid the new criteria for people applying for a US visa from the six mainly Muslim countries mentioned above.
The U.S. State Department said Thursday that it has began implementing a revised version of President Donald Trump's travel restriction policy, after it was given a partial green light by the Supreme Court earlier this week.
This is according to a State Department cable obtained by the Associated Press.

The motion notes that the plaintiffs challenging the travel ban had asked the Trump administration after the Supreme Court ruling to indicate how it meant to implement the bans. The ban went into effect at 8 pm on Thursday. Nevertheless, the administration remains unable to bar anyone from the terror-ridden countries who has "a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States".
People who like Journalists, Workers, students, or lecturers who have valid requests, or employment contracts in the USA have exempted from the ban.
The ban is entering into force because of a Supreme Court opinion this week. His refugee travel ban faced widespread criticism and protests across the country and was temporarily stayed by a federal court after the Washington state filed a lawsuit asking the ban to be revoked.
In that decision, the justices ruled that Trump's ban could partly take effect until the court makes a final ruling later this year. But already there are reported legal challenges to how certain travelers are exempted.
