A Spanish state prosecutor accused former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho of tax fraud worth 3.3 million euros ($3.7 million) in unpaid taxes on Tuesday.
The 54-year-old Mourinho, who coached Madrid from 2010-13, now coaches Manchester United.
The prosecutors' claim against Mourinho stated that he owed Spanish tax authorities €3,3 million (R48,1 million).
They said Mourinho had already settled a previous claim relating to his Spanish taxes after a 2014 inquiry, which resulted in a penalty of 1.15 million euros.
Manchester United have switched their focus to Alvaro Morata with Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly ready to drop his feud with Real Madrid.
Mourinho was named manager at Manchester United last summer and won the Europa League, EFL Cup and Community Shield in his first season.
The Real star has been summoned to testify on July 31.

But a statement released by Mourinho's representatives Gestifute Media said he had not been informed personally of the accusations.
It added: "To this date, neither the Spanish tax authorities, nor the public prosecutor have contacted Jose Mourinho or his advisers who were hired for the inspection process".
The prosecutor's office said Mourinho sold his image rights to Koper Services S. Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao and Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao, who have also been accused of tax fraud in Spain, are also clients of Mendes.
Ronaldo, 32, is similarly said to have used a Virgin Islands shell company to to cheat on his taxes - something he denies.
The announcement comes a week after Real Madrid's Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was accused of evading 14.7 million euros in tax through offshore companies.
The Madrid prosecutor said the case was presented to a local court.
Barcelona and Argentina footballer Lionel Messi, who has been handed a 21-month jail term.
