He was held for almost a year-and-a-half in North Korea before being sent home in a coma last week.
Wyoming officials say the celebration of life for Otto Warmbier will be Thursday morning in the Wyoming High School auditorium.

The chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee has called for a ban on tourist travel to North Korea after American student Otto Warmbier died just days after his release from the North in a coma. Doctors last week said he suffered a "severe neurological injury" of unknown cause. "As I said already, he [Ojea-Quintana] is the model servant of the hostile forces", Han said, making clear he was referring to the United States and its allies who conduct joint military exercises regularly along the volatile border. His eyes opened and blinked but without any sign that he understood verbal commands or his surroundings.
On Tuesday, a USA official, who did not want to be identified, said US spy satellites had detected movements recently at North Korea's nuclear test site near a tunnel entrance, but it was unclear if these were preparations for a new nuclear test - perhaps to coincide with high-level talks between the United States and China in Washington on Wednesday. The United States and its allies would like to see an oil embargo and bans on the North Korean airline and guest workers among other moves, steps diplomats say have been resisted by China and Russian Federation.
North Korea said Warmbier went into a coma after contracting botulism and taking a sleeping pill.
His family believes he was tortured into a vegetative state.
"We both call for the immediate, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, and on DPRK to halt its illegal nuclear weapons program and its ballistic missile tests", Tillerson said, adding that United States officials expect China to exert greater pressure on Pyongyang.

Nauert stressed that the State Department issued a travel warning for North Korea that lays out the dangers. That would only slightly add to the North's isolation and loss of revenue.
Almost all Americans who have gone to North Korea have left without incident.
Instead, he urged the U.S.to meet certain demands so that both the nations can arrive at a peaceful resolution.
Of 16 Americans that have been detained by the North since 1996, Warmbier was the only one to die after his release.
The U.S. side is expected to press China to cooperate on a further toughening of global sanctions on North Korea.
Washington has 28,000 troops deployed in South Korea and a naval armada in the region.
